Lilia Vu on the second hole in the final round of the 2023 AIG Women

Lilia Vu was a class apart over the weekend at Walton Heath as she stormed to victory in the AIG Women's Open.

Vu was six off the pace at the halfway stage of the Championship, but a Saturday 67 lifted her into a share of the lead with Charley Hull ahead of the final round.

That outstanding round was followed by another 67 on Sunday, enough to secure the title by a dominant margin of six strokes.

Here are five of Vu's best shots during her charge to a second major success in 2023.

Round 3 - Tee shot at the 10th

Vu's best shot - and arguably the finest of the entire Championship - was surely in round three as she came within inches of making a hole-in-one at the par-4 10th.

With the tee moved forward to encourage players to go for the green, Vu was one of many players who rose to the challenge by hitting the putting surface.

However, nobody came closer to making an incredible ace.

Round 3 - Second shot at the 18th

At eight-under with one hole to play, Vu was firmly in the mix for a place in Sunday's final group.

She duly earned a share of the lead - and a place alongside Charley Hull in the last pairing - with a brilliant birdie on the 18th, thanks largely to this precise approach.

Final Round - Second shot at the 2nd

The par-4 2nd hole played into the wind all week and proved incredibly challenging, with players forced to use some of their longest clubs just to reach the green in two.

Vu provided a hint of what was to come as she played the hole sensationally in the final round.

After finding the fairway off the tee with her 2-hybrid, she used the same club to great effect to set up only the sixth birdie of the day on the hole.

Final Round - Second shot at the 12th

Birdies at the 9th and 10th lifted Vu well clear of the chasing pack, but her lead was dramatically cut to three shots at the 11th when playing partner Hull holed out from the bunker for a spectacular eagle.

With momentum on the side of the home favourite and an excited crowd sensing a grandstand finish, Vu responded like a true champion.

Her approach to the 12th never left the flag and enabled Vu to immediately reassert her dominance. From that moment on, her success was essentially a formality.

Final Round - Final putt on the 18th

A near-perfect final round from Vu was rounded off in style with a birdie at the closing hole.

Vu could have taken six putts on the final green and still won the title, but she instead produced one last highlight-reel moment.
