Light rain to start the day before showers turn heavier mid-morning. Conditions should improve by midday, although there is still some chance of scattered showers in the afternoon.

Sunshine should break through later in the day, with winds increasing from the northwest.

On Wednesday cloud is expected to give way to partial sunshine and dry conditions throughout the day. Strong winds are forecast with gusts of up to 25mph in the afternoon.

Rain showers are possible across the region on Thursday with strong winds likely once again. Skies will remain mostly sunny on Friday but wind speeds will pick up further.

Winds should ease on Saturday with dry conditions likely across the weekend.
