Angel Yin

At the age of 13 in 2012 Yin became the second youngest player ever to qualify for the US Women's Open. Not that it was the first time she had made her mark – she was a junior world champion in the 7-8 category and won the California state amateur championship at 12.

She then competed in the 2015 Junior Solheim Cup and turned professional a year later.

Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster saw her talent and named her as one of her wild cards for the 2017 match, Yin winning her opening fourball match 6&5 alongside Lizette Salas and halving her singles in America’s success.

Four months later she won the Omega Dubai Classic on the Ladies European Tour and in 2019, still only 20, was joint runner-up to Jeoungeun Lee6 at the US Women's Open.

She came even closer to major glory earlier this year, losing a play-off to Lilia Vu at the Chevron Championship.

Yin finished in a tie for sixth place at the 2023 AIG Women's Open at Walton Heath.
