Atthaya Thitikul

History was made in 2017 at the Ladies European Thailand Championship when the title was claimed by the Thai amateur star. At 14 years four months and 19 days Thitikul was the youngest player ever to win a professional event, being five months younger than Brooke Henderson was when she lifted a trophy on the Canadian Tour in 2012. As a result of her win Thitikul made her debut in the AIG Women’s Open less than a month later and missed the halfway cut by only one shot.

Within two years she had won the Thailand Championship again and had become the world’s leading woman amateur, winning the Smyth Salver back-to-back at the AIG Women's Open in 2018 and 2019. She turned professional at the start of 2020, placed fifth at the 2021 Evian Championship and had her first LPGA Tour success last March, before a second title followed at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in September.

Thitikul duly moved to the top of the Rolex Rankings the following month and was named the LPGA Tour's Rookie of the Year in November.
