Diksha Dagar

Diksha Dagar has twice represented India at the Summer Deaflympics, winning gold in 2021.

She received a late invitation to compete in the Olympic Games in Tokyo after the withdrawal of South African Paula Reto because of Covid-19 protocols. It made her the first golfer to have appeared in both events.

Dagar began wearing hearing aids aged six and picked up the sport a year later alongside her brother Yogesh, who is also profoundly hearing-impaired.

She was low amateur at the Indian Open in 2015 and turned professional in 2019, winning her first event soon after. Then aged just 18, Dagar triumphed at the South African Open, edging out four-time champion Lee-Anne Pace.

Dagar’s second victory in the paid ranks came in the Czech Ladies Open in June 2023.
