Mitsubishi Electric will become a Patron of the AIG Women’s Open for the next three years in a new agreement with The R&A.

Its support of the Championship will begin this year when the AIG Women’s Open is played at Walton Heath from 10-13 August 2023.

Mitsubishi Electric is one of the world's leading names in the manufacture and sales of electrical and electronic products and systems used in energy and electric systems, industrial automation, information and communication systems, electronic devices and home appliances.

Neil Armit, Chief Commercial Officer of The R&A, said: “We would like to welcome Mitsubishi Electric as a Patron of the AIG Women’s Open.

“We have a very clear vision to elevate the AIG Women’s Open and this can only be realised with the support of partners who are committed to creating a world-class championship.

“We are grateful for the support of Mitsubishi Electric and look forward to working with our new partners over the coming years.”

Shunji Kurita, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V., said: “Mitsubishi Electric Europe is delighted to be partnering with The R&A for the AIG Women’s Open, and looking forward to the Championship taking place at Walton Heath.

“Our company has developed a strong association with promoting equality, diversity and inclusion through sports, as well as nurturing athletes in their careers outside of sport.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to continue this ambition as a patron of the AIG Women’s Open.”

The AIG Women’s Open is the showpiece for The R&A’s commitment to growing women’s and girls’ golf via the Women in Golf Charter. The Championship aims to highlight the changing face of women’s golf to inspire, engage and provoke in order to challenge perceptions that will shape the future of the sport.

In recent years the AIG Women’s Open has been played at world-class venues including Royal Troon (2020), Carnoustie (2021) and Muirfield (2022), with the prize fund being increased by 125% since 2018.

This year, for the first time, live music will feature as part of a new, enhanced fan experience that aims to attract new and diverse audiences to the Championship.

BRIT Award winner Ellie Goulding will entertain fans on Saturday 12 August following the close of play. The AIG Women’s Open is proudly supported by title Partner AIG as well as Official Patrons including HSBC UK, Mastercard, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Electric, Nikon, NTT Data, Rolex, Suntory and Toyo Tires.

Tickets to the AIG Women’s Open are on sale here.

Adult tickets are available from £20, with Saturday tickets including a full day of golf action and entry to the Ellie Goulding concert priced at £55.

A number of offers are also available, including a £10 discount when booking a weekend bundle and a saving of £40 when booking the new five-day ticket offering.

Mastercard holders are eligible to receive £5 off their transaction when booking with a valid Mastercard on checkout.

To encourage children and young people to attend the AIG Women’s Open, The R&A will continue the successful ‘Kids go Free’ programme on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, which provides children under-16-years-old free entry to the Championship when accompanied by a paying adult.

Half-price youth tickets are also available on those days for 16-24-year-olds. Junior and youth tickets for Saturday's golf action and Ellie Goulding concert are £20 and £40 respectively.
