Lottie Woad will play alongside the last two AIG Women’s Open Champions, Lydia Ko and Lilia Vu, in rounds one and two of the 2025 Championship at Royal Porthcawl.
Woad has hit the headlines with a phenomenal run of form in recent weeks, winning the KPMG Women’s Irish Open and placing third in the Evian Championship while still an amateur and then triumphing in her first professional start at last week’s ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open.
The 21-year-old Englishwoman will tee off alongside three-time major winner Ko, who claimed a memorable victory at St Andrews 12 months ago, and 2023 AIG WO Champion Vu at 12:54pm BST on Thursday, with the trio back out at 8:09am on Friday morning.

World number one Nelly Korda, who tied for second behind Ko in 2024, is out two groups later in the company of Angel Yin and Ariya Jutanugarn, another AIG Women’s Open Champion. They tee off at 1:16pm on Thursday and 8:31am on Friday.
One of the standout morning groups sees world number two Jeeno Thitikul grouped with Minjee Lee – now a three-time major champion following her success at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship – and England’s Charley Hull, a runner-up at Walton Heath in 2023. The star-studded trio go out at 8:31am on Thursday and 1:16pm on Friday.
Ruoning Yin, Evian Championship winner Grace Kim and Brooke Henderson make up another eye-catching trio, starting at 8:09am on Thursday, while local hero Darcey Harry, a Royal Porthcawl member, is alongside 2018 AIG Women’s Open Champion Georgia Hall and Jennifer Kupcho at 12:21pm in round one.
Maja Stark, who won the US Women’s Open in June, is grouped with Lauren Coughlin and Hye Jin Choi at 8:20am on Thursday and 1:05pm on Friday.
The first shot of the Championship will be struck by Sophia Popov, the AIG Women’s Open Champion of 2020, at 6:30am on Thursday. The player Popov succeeded as Champion, Hinako Shibuno, is off at 7:14am with two other major winners in Mao Saigo and Allisen Corpuz.
