Tardy had not made a cut in a major before finishing tied-fourth in the recent US Women’s Open.

The American held a two-shot lead at the halfway stage of the event, before weekend rounds of 75 and 73 left her six behind the eventual winner, Allisen Corpuz.

Tardy finished the previous season strongly on the Epson Tour, before coming through the LPGA Q-Series to earn her card for the 2023 LPGA Tour season.

She qualified for the 2014, 2016 and 2017 US Women’s Opens as an amateur.
