Chanettee Wannasaen

Chanettee Wannasaen

Chanettee Wannasaen was a joint runner-up at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June - her best major finish to date.

She secured her maiden LPGA victory at the Portland Classic in 2023 and a second followed at the Dana Open in July 2024.

A top 25 finish in the Trust Golf Scottish Open at Dundonald Links in 2022 was good enough to give Wannasaen the second of three Muirfield places on offer to players not already exempt, and there she made her AIG Women's Open debut.

The then-teenage Thai golfer went into the event 392nd on the Rolex Rankings, but broke par in all four rounds in finishing nine-under-par.

It came less than a month after she won the 54-hole Trust Golf Links tournament on the Ladies European Tour Access Series at Ramside Hall in County Durham, where her 11-under aggregate included a second round 64.

She will compete in her third AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl, having also been in the field at St Andrews in 2024 where she missed the cut.
