A top 25 finish in the Trust Golf Scottish Open at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire on Sunday was good enough to give Wannasaen the second of three Muirfield places on offer to players not already exempt.

The 18-year-old Thai golfer went into the event 392nd on the Rolex Rankings, but broke par in all four rounds in finishing nine-under-par. 

It came less than a month after she won the 54-hole Trust Golf Links tournament on the Ladies European Tour Access Series at Ramside Hall in County Durham, where her 11-under aggregate included a second round 64.
