Lizette Salas

Made her AIG Women’s Open debut in 2013, finishing sixth at St Andrews, and has performed very well at the event over the last decade, making 10 out of 10 cuts and missing out on a play-off by just one stroke in both 2019 and 2021.

On the first occasion at Woburn it was Hinako Shibuno who pipped her on 18-under par, then at Carnoustie Anna Nordqvist, finishing on 12-under, denied not only Salas, but also Georgia Hall and Madelene Sagstrom the chance to fight it out for the title in sudden death.

That came only two months after Salas was runner-up to Nelly Korda at the 2021 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, where she went into the final day tied for the lead. Salas has two LPGA Tour victories to her name, the most recent being the Dow Great Lakes team event in July 2022 alongside Jennifer Kupcho, and has played on the last five American Solheim Cup teams, most notably winning three points out of four during the victorious 2017 campaign for the USA.
