Louise Duncan

Louise Duncan player profile

Louise Duncan had the summer of her life in 2021 when she won The R&A Women’s Amateur Championship at Kilmarnock (Barassie), not far from her home golf club of West Kilbride.

The R&A Scholar, a University of Stirling student, defeated Iceland’s Jóhanna Lea Lúðvíksdóttir by a record 9&8 margin, becoming the first Scottish winner since 1997. She then more than held her own among the professionals at Carnoustie with a joint tenth-place finish in the AIG Women's Open to win the Smyth Salver as low amateur.

That performance helped her book a place in the 2022 Championship at Muirfield, where in just her second event as a pro she took home just shy of £80,000 for a T19 finish.
