Magdalena Simmermacher

Simmermacher began 2022 superbly with two second-place finishes and two thirds in her first six starts. The 26-year-old narrowly failed to deny Lee-Anne Pace a record fifth South African Open title in April, losing only at the sixth hole of a play-off, then later the same month came third in back-to-back events in Australia before finishing second in the Aramco Team Series event in Bangkok in May.

When she finished the campaign in the top 15 of the Ladies European Tour's Race to Costa Del Sol, her place at Walton Heath was secured.
