Mel Reid

Finished low amateur in joint 16th place on her AIG Women’s Open debut aged 19 at St Andrews in 2007, a year after she represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup.

Has since won six times on the Ladies European Tour and in October 2020 achieved her maiden LPGA Tour victory at the ShopRite Classic, finishing two clear of Jennifer Kupcho. That followed a tie for third at the 2019 PGA Championship – her best major performance – and 2021 saw her make her fourth Solheim Cup appearance.

Her first point came alongside Laura Davies in the 2011 success at Killeen Castle, then she was unbeaten with 3 ½ points out of four in 2015 and most recently partnered debutant Leona Maguire to two wins and a half in Europe’s exciting win.

That included beating sisters Nelly and Jessica Korda in the opening foursomes.
