A mere 15 when she became the youngest-ever winner on the LPGA Tour of Japan, capturing the KKT Cup Vantelin Open in 2014 by one after getting up and down from a bunker on the final hole.
She was a first-year student at Kagoshima High School at the time and later that year helped Japan tie for eighth place in the Espirito Santo World Amateur Team Championship won by an Australian team which included Minjee Lee.
She became Japan amateur champion the following season and since turning professional has added five more victories on her home circuit, including last October’s Japan Open by six strokes over Mao Saigo and Momoko Ueda.
