Sora Kamiya made it to Royal Porthcawl thanks to a successful season on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour.

She won the Sky RKB Ladies Classic in May, finishing one shot clear of Shina Kanazawa and Sakura Koiwai.

The 22-year-old also registered six top-10s in 12 other JLPGA events during a stellar campaign.

Sora subsequently finished behind only Shuri Sakuma in the end-of-season JLPGA Mercedes Ranking.

Sora first made a name for herself in September 2023 when she won the Konica Minolta Cup, one of the majors on the JLPGA circuit.
