Amelia Garvey

Amelia Garvey is a history-maker.

During the final round of the Royal St Cloud Women's Championship in Florida in 2024, she became the first professional golfer to record a par, birdie, eagle, albatross and a hole-in-one all in the same round – a one in 4.5 trillion likelihood. She also had a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and a 6 on her scorecard.

Royal Porthcawl is Amelia's first experience of the AIG Women’s Open, although she has appeared four times in the US Women’s Open.

Born in Manchester but raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, she was runner-up to Emily Toy at The Women's Amateur Championship in 2019.

She turned professional in 2021 and joined the Epson Tour in 2022. She was twice runner-up at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, in 2023 and 2024.
