Miyu Yamashita held off a Charley Hull charge to land her first career major and become the 2025 AIG Women’s Open Champion.
The 24-year-old from Osaka celebrated her birthday on the Saturday and earned the best possible belated gift courtesy of a final-round 70, finishing two shots clear at the summit.

So to get her hands on the AIG Women’s Open trophy and become golf’s newest major winner is the stuff dreams are made of.
Miyu said: “This was a goal of mine from a very young age to win a major championship, and to be able to do that is a very satisfying feeling, very special.”
Charley Hull arrived at the AIG Women’s Open expecting to head home at the halfway stage – she left disappointed but defiant after another runner-up finish in the Championship; her latest major near-miss.
"Coming into this week, I didn't think I was going to make the cut,” she said. “That's the truth of it.
“I think I did pretty well.”

The 19-year-old triumphed in The Women’s Amateur Championship in June and carried this momentum into the AIG Women’s Open in Wales, where a stunning final round helped her end the weekend as the best-placed of four amateurs in the field.
