Royal Lytham & St Annes will welcome the world’s best players this summer as they compete for one of golf's biggest prizes – the AIG Women's Open.

Once again, a huge number of spectators are expected to attend the Championship, so we advise you to plan your journey carefully. To avoid road traffic congestion and to be kind to the environment please consider the use of public transport or car share with your friends.

GETTING THERE

Find Accommodation

Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club is in Lancashire in the north-west of England.

Lytham St Annes is 5 miles (8km) south of Blackpool, 18 miles (28km) west of Preston and is well connected by public transport. Manchester and Liverpool are around 50 miles (80km) away.

There are a range of hotels, B&Bs and self-catering accommodation available nearby, ideal for your stay during the AIG Women’s Open. Head to the Visit Lancashire website to find out more.

There are two apps in use at the AIG Women’s Open. The AIG Women's Open app and the AIG WO Tickets app.

 

The AIG Women’s Open App

The AIG Women's Open app has a live scoring leaderboard, with up to date, hole-by-hole scoring from each round. You can customise how your leader board looks, and receive notifications based on your preferences. You can also view pop-ups of every player's full scorecard, all live and within the app.

 

You can download it from the App Store or Google Play.

 

The AIG WO Tickets App

Tickets for the AIG Women’s Open will be delivered digitally via the AIG WO Tickets App. The AIG WO Tickets App provides a secure means to manage and transfer your tickets. More information about the AIG Women’s Open Tickets app can be found here.


Both apps are available to download now on IOS and Android devices.

Readmission

Re-admission will be permitted at the AIG Women’s Open. Ticket holders will be required to present the following on re-entry: (i) a ticket valid for that day’s play; and (ii) an official, untampered, re-entry wristband that must be collected from the exit gate when initially leaving the AIG Women’s Open.

Sustainability

Greenlinks – A Sustainable Championship

We are proud to have our Greenlinks programme for sustainable championships in action at the 2026 AIG Women’s Open. Together with our Patrons and partners we’re working to host a sustainable Championship for all to enjoy. You can play your part too:

  • Where possible please walk, cycle, use public transport or car share to the Championship.
  • A bicycle rack will be available for use, located by the main entrance.
  • Remember your refillable water bottle, or buy one onsite, and use the free refill stations supported by Mastercard and the Priceless Planet Coalition.
  • Enjoy the local, sustainably sourced catering and the array of vegan and vegetarian foods on offer.
  • Use the recycling bins available across the course to support our efforts to send zero waste to landfill.
  • Help us to protect the local wildlife and important habitats by keeping to the designated pathway.

Spectator Experience


Grandstands

Soak up the atmosphere from the various public grandstands located in prime viewing spots. There's no need to pre-book your seats; availability is on a first come, first served basis.

Large Screens

Keep up to date with all the action through one of the many electronic leaderboards situated around the course, or relax and watch the day unfold on the large video screen located in the Festival Fan Village.

From big kids, to little kids, and those that are kids at heart, we've got a stellar line up of activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Food and Beverage

Foodies will be in their element at the AIG Women's Open thanks to tasty offerings from a range of exciting, passionate and diverse street food traders.

Free water refilling stations will be available across the AIG Women’s Open with reusable stainless steel water bottles available for purchase. Alternatively, please bring your own from home.

The AIG Women’s Open will be operated as a cashless site and only credit or debit cards can be used to purchase food and drink.

Shop

The AIG Women’s Open Shop will feature a range of functional and progressive adidas golf apparel and popular souvenirs. The AIG Women’s Open will be operated as a cashless site and only credit or debit cards can be used to purchase goods.

The Shop is open from 8am until 8pm (or until the shelves are empty!) every day of the Championship.

Safety & Medical

Safety

  • Under-16s should always be accompanied by an adult.
  • Always follow the instructions of Marshals and Officials and stay outside the ropes that bound the golf course.
  • On entry to the venue look for map boards. These will help you find exits, key facilities and they provide other key information. If in doubt, ask an Official or Marshal.
     

Medical

  • A Medical HQ will be located within the Festival Village.
  • The Medical HQ will provide first aiders, cycle paramedics and ambulance crews.
  • The Medical HQ operates from before the first game tees off until 30 minutes after the last game has finished.
  • Please remember to be well prepared for a day out in both the sun and the rain. Ensure you have suitable walking footwear and appropriate clothing for all kinds of weather. Take plenty of sunscreen with you and wear a hat when necessary.
  • To ensure you stay safe and enjoy the golf, also remember any tablets or medication that you may require, including antihistamines or painkillers for hayfever or other ailments, and plasters for cuts and scrapes.

Enjoy your time at the AIG Women’s Open, and we will be there to support you should you need it.

Prohibited Items

1. Ladders (including step ladders), boxes, crates (including folding crates), periscopes, selfie sticks and other similar items used to achieve an elevated viewing position.
2. Lawn chairs, folding chairs, tripods and other similar seating items. Single stem shooting sticks and rollator walking frames (with and without seats) are permitted.
3. Items which, in the opinion of The R&A (or any authorised person), could be used as a weapon including firearms, knives, corkscrews and personal protection sprays.
4. Pyrotechnic devices including fireworks, explosives, smoke canisters, flares, laser pointers or similar items.
5. Noise producing devices including air horns, portable speakers, PA systems, megaphones or similar items used for amplification or broadcast.
6. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) including drones, model aircraft, kites or similar airborne crafts/items.
7. Bicycles (unless authorised by The R&A), skateboards, skates and other ride-on equipment, except those required to be used as mobility aids by registered persons with mobility impairment. Bicycles must be secured in the designated Bicycle Parking areas.
8. Promotional, commercial, political, religious or items deemed offensive of whatever nature, including but not limited to clothing, banners, signs, symbols and leaflets used for ambush marketing or other similar unauthorised promotional purposes.
9. Still photography of play is permitted provided that it does not disrupt play and images are not used for any commercial purposes or financial gain. Interchangeable or fixed lenses of more than 300mm physical length when fully extended are not permitted. Lenses must be non-reflective and shutters must be silent. Flash photography is not permitted. Video recording is prohibited at any time. Please see full camera use terms and conditions here.
10. All bags may be subject to search on entry to the venue or elsewhere within the venue on request by security contractors authorised by The R&A. Oversized bags deemed inappropriate by The R&A (and/or authorised R&A security contractors) will not be admitted. We class oversized bags as larger than 30 litres. Please note there is no left luggage facility, so suitcases and oversized bags cannot be stored onsite.
11. Alcohol and containers suspected of containing alcohol;
12. Glass bottles and any other glass drinking vessels;
13. Animals except for service animals.
14. Any other item that may represent a threat to the safety of any other person, items that breach copyright, unauthorised merchandise, banners, posters and other articles without the specific written consent of The R&A.
