Caley McGinty

Qualifies as the highest-ranked Britain and Ireland player on the amateur world rankings. Reached as high as ninth following five college wins in America last year and has played in the last two Curtis Cup matches.

Both were victories for the United States, but McGinty was outstanding at Conwy last year, winning both her games on the opening day, halving her second series of foursomes and being the only home player to win her singles. She was a sophomore at Kent State University in Ohio, but then switched to Oklahoma State.

Came third at last season’s English stroke play championship and in April was joint 12th at the Augusta National Women’s Championship, level with world No.1 Rose Zhang.
