Charlotte Naughton qualified for the 2026 AIG Women’s Open – four days before the Championship began – by winning the European Ladies’ Amateur title in Sweden.
The 18-year-old shot rounds of 69, 72, 67 and 72, going wire-to-wire to finish on eight-under-par, two clear of home favourite Meja Örtengren.
Charlotte is the first English winner of the event since Alice Hewson in 2019 and follows in the footsteps of European stars Carlota Ciganda and Céline Boutier.
She was a member of the GB&I Curtis Cup team in June and partnered Davina Xanh in their 3&2 victory over Asterisk Talley and Anna Davis.
