Lucy Li hit the headlines in 2014 when she made it into the US Women’s Open at Pinehurst aged 11 years, 8 months and 19 days. She remains the youngest player in the championship’s history.

A decade later, the Californian made her AIG Women’s Open debut at St Andrews in 2024 as a two-time winner on the Epson Tour. She re-appeared in the Championship at Royal Porthcawl in 2025 after finishing T12 at that year’s KPMG Women's PGA Championship – her best major championship finish.

Now she is all set to make her third AIG Women’s Open appearance at Royal Lytham & St Annes – the only major in which she is yet to make the cut.

Lucy’s best LPGA Tour result was second at the 2024 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in which she eventually lost to Thidapa Suwannapura in a play-off after carding a final-round 60 which featured three eagles.

Lucy won a new BMW i7 car after landing her first-ever hole-in-one in the first round of the BMW Ladies Championship in October 2025.

The 23-year-old struck a beautiful 7-iron at the 155-yard 13th at Pine Beach Golf Links in Korea – and watched on in amazement as her ball trickled into the cup.
