Was one of three uncapped wild cards for last September’s Solheim Cup in America and did not let captain Catriona Matthew down with a second day fourball win alongside Carlota Ciganda against Jessica Korda and Megan Khang and then a singles half with Austin Ernst in Europe’s thrilling win. Twice represented Denmark in the Espirito Santo Women’s World Amateur Team Championship.
Solheim teammate Emily Kristine Pedersen was alongside her as they finished fourth in 2014 and they were together again in posting top 10 finishes at last summer’s Olympic Games in Japan. Joint third round leader with Anna Nordqvist in last year’s AIG Women’s Open, but it was the Swede who went on to win. This May, though, Madsen beat Lin Xiyu in sudden death in Thailand to become the first Danish winner on the circuit. Two weeks later she was in another play-off, finishing runner-up to Atthaya Thitikul.
