Royal Porthcawl was Youmin Hwang’s first appearance in the AIG Women’s Open, and came just two months after she made her bow in the US Women’s Open, where she finished T56.

The 22-year-old has picked up two wins on the LPGA of Korea Tour and one on the Taiwan LPGA Tour.

She qualified for the AIG Women’s Open by being among the top 50 players on the 2025 Rolex Rankings as of 30 June. 

Youmin birdied four of the final six holes to win the LOTTE Championship at a breezy Hoakalei Country Club – finishing one stroke clear of Hyo Joo Kim – for her first victory on the LPGA Tour, in October 2025.
