Rio Takeda

Rio Takeda won eight times on the LPGA Tour of Japan in 2024, and finished T2 at the US Women's Open earlier this year.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a sensational season last year, starting it off with a triumph at the KKT Cup Vantelin Ladies Open and capping it off at the Toto Japan Classic in November.

She followed this stellar year up by winning the Blue Bay LPGA by six strokes from Minjee Lee in March.

Rio made a wonderful start to her 2025 AIG Women's Open campaign, sharing the lead with compatriot Eri Okayama after round one.

She backed this up with another impressive day on Friday, carding a three-under-par round of 69.
