Rio Takeda

Rio Takeda finished T4 in the 2025 AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl, having shared the lead after the opening round.

This followed a sensational season in 2024 which saw her win eight times on the LPGA Tour of Japan. She started the year off with a triumph at the KKT Cup Vantelin Ladies Open and capped it off at the Toto Japan Classic in November.

She followed this stellar year up by winning the Blue Bay LPGA by six strokes from Minjee Lee in March 2025.

Rio made a wonderful start to her 2025 AIG Women's Open campaign, sharing the lead with compatriot Eri Okayama after round one.

She backed this up with another impressive day on Friday, carding a three-under-par round of 69, before eventually going on to end the week in a tie for fourth, four shots behind Champion Miyu Yamashita.

Rio also enjoyed a T2 finish at the 2025 US Women's Open, having come T9 in the same event the year before.
