Greatness inspires greatness – as Charley Hull and Welsh world boxing champion Lauren Price discovered when they met each other at Royal Porthcawl recently.
Superstars in their own sports, the pair swapped stories of how they reached the top and discussed how difficult it is to stay there.
Lauren – the unified welterweight champion – handed Charley some boxing gloves and tested her stamina with a punching drill, before Charley showed Lauren how to hit a golf ball for the very first time:
Lauren said: “I’ve followed Charley for a few years now and we both went to the Paris Olympics, but it was great to finally meet her in person.
“She’s a character! We had a great day together and I look forward to supporting her in the summer.”
Watch history being made at Royal Porthcawl.
Charley – who boxed when she was younger – echoed these sentiments, adding: “Lauren is a great girl – and obviously an unbelievable boxer – and we had some really good conversations about sport.
“When you meet someone as talented as Lauren, it is a privilege and I’m sure we both went away with some food for thought.”
