The AIG Women's Open 2024

St Andrews is set to welcome the world’s best players as they take on golf’s most iconic course from 21-25 August 2024.

All you need to do is prepare for an incredible day out. We’ve taken care of the finer details – and here is all you need to know to make sure your day is one to remember.

A high number of spectators are expected to attend throughout the week, so we advise you to plan your journey in advance. To avoid road traffic congestion and to be kind to the environment please consider the use of public transport or car share with your friends.

Find Accommodation

The Old Course is located in St Andrews, Fife, and benefits from being ideally situated near to three major cities – Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

There are a range of hotels, B&Bs and self-catering accommodation available, ideal for your stay during the AIG Women’s Open.

The AIG Women


There are two apps in use at the AIG Women’s Open. The AIG Women's Open app and the AIGWO Tickets app.


The AIG Women’s Open App

The AIG Women's Open app has a live scoring leader board, with up to date, hole-by-hole scoring from each round. You can customise how your leader board looks, and receive notifications based on your preferences. You can also view pop-ups of every player's full scorecard, all live and within the app.


You can download it from the App Store or Google Play.


The AIGWO Tickets App

Tickets for the AIG Women’s Open will be delivered digitally via the AIGWO Tickets App. The AIGWO Tickets App provides a secure means to manage and transfer your tickets. More information about the AIG Women’s Open Tickets app can be found here.

Both apps are available to download now on IOS and Android devices.

Re-admission will be permitted at the AIG Women’s Open. Ticket holders will be required to present the following on re-entry: (i) a ticket valid for that day’s play; and (ii) an official, untampered, re-entry wristband that must be collected from the exit gate when initially leaving the AIG Women’s Open.

Greenlinks – A Sustainable Championship

We are proud to have our Greenlinks programme for sustainable championships in action at the 2024 AIG Women’s Open. Together with our Patrons and partners we’re working to host a sustainable Championship for all to enjoy. You can play your part too:

  • Where possible please walk, cycle, use public transport or car share to the Championship. A bicycle rack will be available for use.
  • Remember your refillable water bottle, or buy one onsite, and use the free refill stations supported by Mastercard and the Priceless Planet Coalition.
  • Enjoy the local, sustainably sourced catering and the array of vegan and vegetarian foods on offer.
  • Use the recycling bins available across the course to support our efforts to send zero waste to landfill.
  • Help us to protect the local wildlife and important habitats by keeping to the designated pathway.

Spectator Experience


Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy prime viewing spots from the public grandstands located on the 1st tee and 18th green. Additional viewing platforms will be available around the course to watch the action unfold. No need to pre-book your seats; availability is on a first come, first served basis.

Large Screens

Keep up to date with all the action through one of the many electronic leaderboards situated around the course, or relax and watch the day unfold on the large video screen located in the Festival Fan Village.

Food and Beverage

Foodies will be in their element at the AIG Women's Open thanks to tasty offerings from a range of exciting, passionate and diverse street food traders.

Free water refilling stations will be available across the AIG Women’s Open with reusable stainless steel water bottles available for purchase. Alternatively, please bring your own from home.

The AIG Women’s Open will be operated as a cashless site and only credit or debit cards can be used to purchase food and drink.

Safety & Medical


  • Under-16s should always be accompanied by an adult.
  • Always follow the instructions of Marshals and Officials and stay outside the ropes that bound the golf course.
  • On entry to the venue look for map boards. These will help you find exits, key facilities and they provide other key information. If in doubt, ask an Official or Marshal.


  • A Medical HQ will be available and the location of this will be announced in due course.
  • There will also be a number of First Aid points onsite to assist the Medical HQ.
  • The Medical HQ operates from before the first game tees off until 30 minutes after the last game has finished.
  • Please remember to be well prepared for a day out in both the sun and the rain. Ensure you have suitable walking footwear and appropriate clothing for all kinds of weather. Take plenty of sunscreen with you and wear a hat when necessary.
  • To ensure you stay safe and enjoy the golf, also remember any tablets or medication that you may require, including antihistamines or painkillers for hayfever or other ailments, and plasters for cuts and scrapes.

Enjoy your time at the AIG Women’s Open, and we will be there to support you should you need it.

Prohibited Items

1. Professional cameras, video cameras or any other photographic equipment used for commercial purposes;
2. Steps, stepladders, crates or other items that may be used to stand on;
3. Folding chairs (single stem shooting sticks will be permitted);
4. Fireworks or any pyrotechnic device;
5. Remote drones or similar radio controlled equipment;
6. ‘Selfie-sticks’ and periscope devices;
7. Noise making equipment of any type;
8. Offensive weapons or other items where possession may be a criminal offence;
9. Alcohol and containers suspected of containing alcohol;
10. Glass bottles and any other glass drinking vessels;
11. Dogs other than assistance dogs;
12. Any other item that may represent a threat to the safety of any other person, items that breach copyright, unauthorised merchandise, banners, posters and other articles without the specific written consent of The R&A.
